Blizzard 2010 - Parts 1 and 2

It's been quite a week for weather around here. We've been somewhat snowed in since the first blizzard on Sat. 2/6 where we got over 30" of snow. It's been a while since we've seen that much snow! Then yesterday, Wed. 2/10 we got Blizzard part 2. Not sure exactly how much more snow fell. It looked about 12-14" on the driveway - it's hard to tell though since it was blowing around as soon as it fell - but we have pretty large snow drifts and our cars once again look like big lumps of snow. We did manage to get out on Monday afternoon because all the neighbors got together and shoveled a one lane circle around our court. We didn't see a plow until Tuesday afternoon - just in time for the next round of snow! Needless to say Tim's been doing a lot of shoveling while I stand inside and watch. I feel a little helpless but I know it's better for baby if I'm not shoveling 30"+ of snow.

We've been fortunate that we haven't lost power. School's been canceled (obviously) since our area is not used to dealing with more than a couple inches of snow at a time. So we've had lots of time to do things around the house! Cleaned up our guest room, made curtains for the living room (we've only had the curtain rods up since October), rearranged the basement, made a couple fires (we love having a fireplace!), and it's been great to have so much time to work on my National Board portfolio which is due the end of March. Next on the to do list: make curtains for the nursery and do our taxes.

I'm now 30 weeks (!!!!!!!!!) and baby is moving around like crazy! I can feel arms and legs moving and baby changing positions quite a lot and I know one of these days I'll actually be able to see one of those little appendages poking out of my belly!

One of my friends at school had her baby on Saturday during the Blizzard! (I'm guessing she was at the hospital long before the snow started.) Hearing from her and seeing pictures of her little girl make me even more anxious to see our baby!

It's definitely more difficult moving around (and I sometimes can't believe how much bigger Baby is going to get before he/she is born!). Rolling over in bed takes so much effort I wake up every time I need to move. I'm not completely tired of being pregnant yet but I can see that point in the near future.

I realized I'm not so good at remembering to take pictures of growing baby (and me) and before I know it, 3 weeks have passed. (I'll try to be more diligent in the coming weeks as baby is going to double in size!!!!!!!!)
So here we go....30 week 3 days: (yes we still have a living poinsettia)
